FUNCTION AND FASHION

ONE 11 MAIN, ABERDEEN, NORTH CAROLINA
So we all know that social media is a powerful medium these days for finding anything from a plumber to a hair dresser! the one thing I never really use it for is to find clothes, why you might ask? well that is because I think you have to always try them on. What you see a size zero girlie wearing in a magazine or on line, thanks to air brushing does not always reflect what it will look like when you see it on your not size zero body!
Anyway I came across this brand of jeans called Marc Allison in California,
Shuffling to and from work you see a lot of #denim butts in a NYC subway. Not only am I searching out my train route but cataloguing every pocket detail and brand stamp on passing derriere’s. There was a girl holding hands with her bf walking up the stairs in front of me with great pocket placement and a killer wash. The word Maj was lightly under dyed on the right rear pocket. It went in to my notes of things to research… 3 days later I got a twitter message from Marc Allison Jeans. When I pulled up the website there was the Maj logo. My curiosity got the best of me…
Ventured over to Haight-Ashbury this weekend to check out the DNA pop-up, STOREFRONT. Such rad jewelry and cool,

carefully-curated vintage. They’ll have different vendors each weekend in December, so I’m excited to see what gems they bring in next! Y’all should check it out.
I guess I was sort of channeling my inner hippie chick with this look (Haight St. adventures have a way of doing that). I must confess…
I was asked to participate in the Lycra denim project and happily accepted because I love a good challenge. The project? Put as much wear on these puppies as possible to see how they hold up through daily life. Of course I took this to a whole new level and did everything but run them over with the car (on that note, be right back).
I don’t know about you but I struggle to find a bear of jeans I can feel comfortable in. Most either fall off my hips, and even if I wear a belt, I can feel that they just don’t fit quite as snug as I would like. Others are so tight that I feel like I need to pop the button on them after each meal. Because of this dilemma, I’ve ended up wearing leggings more than I wear jeans. I also can’t stand how heavy most denims are. They make you hot, they cut off your circulation, and they make you feel “frumpy”. Well I am thrilled to have found a pair of Marc Allison Jeans that fits perfect and looks amazing! READ FULL STORY

Based in Los Angeles, Marc Allison jeans was co-founded by textile veteran and premium denim expert, Marc Flashberg and his wife Allison, a former financial executive and operations powerhouse. Their uniquely diverse backgrounds perfectly complement each other and make for an ideal team. The duo set out to design classic and sophisticated jeans with an emphasis on fit and comfort that naturally complements every woman’s individuality and sense of style. Together they have created a denim line that features some of the newest fashion forward washes and designs.
I found out about the brand a few weeks ago and you know me and my pursuit of comfortable and stylish jeans. The Marc Allison jeans seem to be right up my alley. Needless to say I was very excited when they agreed to send me a pair of their jeans to try. After a really hard time trying to pick the design I wanted, I decided to go with the Emilia boot cut in medium blue indigo which is a boot cut design and comes in a really dark shade of denim. The Emilia features a bit lighter shade on the thighs and back that gives the pants a little distressed touch.
The fabric is lighter than most of other jeans I have tried (73% supima cotton 27% electrwll-p X-fit) making the pants really comfortable and soft ….You can easily forget you are wearing a pair of jeans, and even thought I am a big fan of comfort, what made me fall in love with the MarcAllison jeans was the fit…They fit me like a glove.
I have not felt or looked this good in a pair of jeans since....
Denim Reviewing: Marc Allison , Sassy Midleg 5 Pocket Back Zip Jean
These jeans are perfect. As soon as I put them on I was in love. They fit so well and are different from any other pair of denim that I own. They are pretty snug throughout the thigh and ass area, which I like, but are soft and flexible enough to be really comfortable. Marc Allison is known for their “two way stretch denim” and for being able to provide the ultimate fit. . .and this pair definitely did just that.
I absolutely love the little zippers on the back. Details like that and the lightning bolt stitching on the side really turn

I felt as though I was channeling my mom, circa 1977, in this pair of Mark Allison Shirl Bell denim. The bell bottom leg is not something that I have ever worn, so I was pleasantly surprised to realize that I really liked this pair of denim. They fit so nicely and hug my curves in all the right ways. As most women will say,

Woooo! I love Marc Allison Jeans and I adore the couple behind the brand too! I am so happy to show you guys pictures of Gisele Bundchen stepping out in LA on Thursday wearing the brand. Congrats guys!

I’m going to be reviewing a pair of their denim leggings in a dark blue wash. The one thing that really surprised me when I got these jeans was the fit. I’m normally really skeptical about the fit of new brands as I normally leave it up to the experts to get it right, but, just because they are new doesn’t mean they haven’t focused on the fit is what I found out.

As a dedicated member of ‘Chickdom’, I have recently come to the conclusion that my clothes fit neatly into two distinct categories (yes, I have put great deal of thought into this): 1. Clothes that fit my life and 2. Clothes I desperately want to fit my life. Clothing in the latter category, unfortunately, waits anxiously in my closet; ready for the unexpected garden party, surprise trip to the Caribbean, impossible to get concert tickets or romantic dinner with hubby. Let’s just say that these lovely items of clothing lead very lonely, sheltered lives. My clothing in the former category, however, enjoys life to the fullest, drunk with their importance – getting me through each day in the attempt to maintain honor for Chickdom.
So what do my wardrobe revelations have to do with the Marc Allison Jeans Omni Denim Hoodie? Well, from the moment I pulled this hoodie out of the package, I knew it was special and was destined to play very nicely with the clothing that ‘fits my life” – a new friend!

After meeting the charming couple at Coterie, I was recently sent a denim hoodie by Marc & Allison of Marc Allison Jeans to try out. At first I was slightly bummed because I thought that all of our chilly weather was gone for the year but then I was given one last day time cold snap in which to model this piece for you.

While I was attending the Coterie NYC Trade Show this week I was finally able to meet the designers for Marc Allison Jeans! And wow do they know their stuff! Apparently Marc was in on creating the iconic denim for PRVCY. I have previously said they had some of the best denim ever thought of in their jeans.

My love affair with jeans started in middle school. There was always that popular name brand that I just had to have. It didn’t matter what they looked like or how much they cost - I just had to have them! Years later when I went to college I stopped caring about brands and started looking for the perfect fit. I knew that finding a pair of jeans that met my wish list would be hard, but I had hoped that there was a designer out there who had me in mind.

Who’s ready for spring? Marc Allison Jeans caught our attention with a couple of their jeans in a spring-friendly Selly straight leg jean in Powder.

Textile industry veteran Marc Flashberg launches premium denim label Marc Alan Jeans, it was announced today. The line uses a superior fabric of Supima cotton with XFIT technology and is a culmination of three years of development.
A 30-year veteran in the textile business, Flashberg, a principal of Marc Alan jeans, developed a driving passion for premium denim at the forefront of the denim explosion. After spending years of introducing innovative products to premium denim companies, it became clear to Flashberg that there was a void in the market. Until this point, it was perceived that fit and comfort was achieved primarily through the pattern. Flashberg realizes that the pattern alone cannot offer fit and comfort. Fit and comfort can only truly be achieved through the fabric, complementing the pattern.
“It can’t be just a beautiful looking fabric - the fabric needs to be able to move with the body, retain it’s shape and look fashionable,” said Flashberg.
“It’s been a three-year evolution of fabric development culminating in the birth of Marc Alan jeans.”
Pulling from his early textile experience in knits, five years ago Flashberg came up with the revolutionary idea of creating a two-way stretch denim to provide the ultimate in fit and comfort for the denim aficionados. Through further exploration of the concept, the mill Marc represented learned that Invista, a global integrated producer of polymers and fibers, had already begun research on the creation of a yarn that would allow denim to stretch in the length as well as the width. Working together with Invista, the XFIT was born and the first generation of fabric that offers fit, comfort and recovery was introduced to the market. Flashberg’s Marc Alan Jeans fabric has been further enhanced with Supima cotton, which “brings the package of fit and comfort to a whole new level.”
